About Me

Hey! My name is Rachel Mackey, and I’d be super honoured to capture your life. I’m based in Ottawa, Ontario alongside my husband (Liam), and I have a deep love for coffee, dry wit, and homemade pasta. Some other things that I love: My family, dogs, the idea of hiking, plants (I have too many), church, lego, and belting songs in the car with Liam. If you decide to book a consult, feel free to bond with me over any of these topics~

Meet Sarah, My Second Photographer!

Hi, my name is Sarah! My passion for photography started at the age of 12, when I bought my first digital camera. Despite the many 2000s selfies and failed music videos, over the years, I’ve grown to love and appreciate this art and find so much joy in capturing special moments on camera. I am so excited to be a part of this team and to be a part of your big day!

FAQs

What’s included in your wedding packages?

I shoot continuously in a photojournalistic style for most of a wedding day. Every one of my investment options includes my specific style and experience. You will also be offered an optional engagement session. (some couples prefer not to have one.)

After shooting, I will send you all digital edits on an online gallery for viewing, sharing, download (yes, you can download all the photos!), and printing. You get ALL the printing rights. You can download every photo, but I just ask that you do not edit them yourself (but cropping is okay!)

*Special Offer: All weddings that are booked and scheduled before the end of 2024 will receive a complimentary photo album.

Do you also offer videography?

Unfortunately not. I’m sorry! However, Liam and I hope to add videography to our wedding packages in the next few years.

Do you travel?

Yup! I’ve already been booked for a wedding in Vancouver, and the GTA. I’m always down to fly anywhere! I just ask that the cost of the flight and accommodations be included in the overall cost of the package.

When do you recommend starting photographic coverage, and when do you recommend it ends?

A typical full day of wedding coverage starts 30-45 minutes before you get dressed, and ends 20-30 minutes into dancing (or after the last scheduled item you want photographed).

My clients have access to my sample wedding timelines which should help you figure out how much time is needed for each part of the day.

Should I hire a second photographer for my wedding?

If you're planning to have 75 or more guests at your wedding, I strongly recommend having a second photographer. They bring a unique perspective to your special day and will also help streamline your schedule. For example: While I'm busy capturing the beautiful details of the bride's dress and accessories, the second photographer can focus on capturing candid moments in the bridal suite. Alternatively, during the ceremony, I can capture the bride from the front while the second photographer captures the train of her dress from behind. Having that extra set of eyes ensures that we capture every important moment. However, for intimate weddings or elopements, a second photographer may not be necessary.

Can we ask you to tentatively hold a date for us?

All dates are available on a first come, first served basis. I'm only able to reserve your date when both a contract and a retainer have been submitted.
